Folder Structure

Every product includes a zip file with the following folder structure set up:

This is the folder structure I suggest to keep things organized, but you can put them wherever you want.

On your first installation you can just copy the MT_VersaTile_System folder to the appropriate folder within your custom library (see below). On subsequent installations you can just copy the [asset name]_[version number].sbsar to the Pattern_Generators folder already in your library. For bundles, there will be multiple zip files, so you’ll need to do the above for each individual asset.

Installation Instructions

  1. Unzip the downloaded [asset name].zip file.
  2. If you don’t already have one setup, create a folder where you would like your custom library to be located. I suggest keeping things organized by creating different subfolders for different node types (filters, generators etc.), but I’ll leave that up to you.
  3. Copy the file MT_VersTile_System folder and its contents to the appropriate folder in your custom library.
  4. Open Substance 3D Designer and got to “Edit\Preferences..\Projects”. Here you can set up custom project and configuration files if you want to. Select either any custom projects or “User project” in the Projects section.
  5. With the desired project selected go to the “Library” tab, click the “+” to add a new watched path, and navigate to and select your custom library. If your library contains subfolders, you can either add the folders you want included separately, or just select include the library root and enable the “Recursive” checkbox.

You’ll need to restart Designer for the node to show up in your library.
